These resources can provide visual demonstrations and further clarification to ensure a smooth and easy installation.
Installing a T-Top tower for a DIY enthusiast can be relatively straightforward with the right preparation and approach. The ease of installation may vary depending on factors such as your familiarity with boat modifications, your mechanical skills, and the specific wakeboard tower model you choose. However, with planning, and following the provided instructions and guides, most DIY enthusiasts can successfully install a wakeboard tower on their boat. We recommended to have another person assist you during the installation process, as it can make the task easier and safer. If you're uncertain about the installation process or lack experience in this area, it is advisable to seek professional assistance from a marine technician or a boat dealer who has expertise in T-top installations. They can provide guidance, ensure proper installation, and help address any potential challenges specific to your boat's make and model.
There are various accessories and features that can be added to a T-top to enhance its functionality and convenience. Here are some commonly available options:
Rod Holders: Rod holders allow you to securely store fishing rods and keep them easily accessible and keep the deck clutter free while on the water.
Speakers: If you enjoy music while boating, you can add marine speakers to the T-top for better sound quality. This allows you to enjoy your favorite tunes while on the water.
V-Brace: T-top V-brace, also known as a T-top support brace or T-top reinforcement brace, is a structural component found in certain T-top designs for boats. It is used to provide additional stability and support to the T-top structure, particularly in situations where the T-top may experience significant vertical or lateral forces, such as during rough water conditions or high-speed travel.
When folding the T-top on models that feature a folding capability, it is important to follow the correct steps to ensure proper handling and prevent any damage. Please adhere to the following instructions:
1. Only collapse the T-top when necessary to minimise vertical clearance. This is typically done to safely navigate under low bridges on the water or to fit your boat in a storage location such as a garage. It is not recommended to trailer your boat with the T-top folded down. Trailer movement could cause the unsecured folded top section to sway and potentially damage the lower leg sections or welds of the frame.
2. Begin by removing the two rear leg bolts on each side of the T-top.
3. On the front of each leg section, locate three bolts per side. Only remove the top and bottom bolts. These bolts are used when folding the top forward, utilising the remaining single centre bolt on each side as a hinge.
4. With the assistance of another person, gently tilt the top section forward towards the bow of the boat until it is gently rested on the deck.
5. To bring the T-top back up, repeat the process in reverse. Make sure to properly tighten all bolts to ensure a secure and stable T-top structure.
By following these instructions, you can safely fold and unfold the T-top as needed, providing flexibility in vertical clearance without compromising the structural integrity of the T-top.
Our Galaxy T-tops have built-in wire channels to neatly run the wiring. These channels help conceal and protect the wires from external elements. Ensure all electrical connections are properly waterproofed to prevent water damage. Use marine-grade heat shrink connectors, silicone sealant, or waterproof electrical tape to seal the connections. Use marine-grade wiring: Make sure to use marine-grade wiring that is designed to withstand the harsh marine environment. This type of wiring is more durable and resistant to moisture, corrosion, and UV damage.
Rinse the T-top with fresh water after each use to remove saltwater, dirt, and debris. Use a gentle soap or mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge to clean the surface. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could damage the powder-coated finish. Corrosion Prevention: While powder coating provides good corrosion resistance, it's still important to minimise contact with corrosive substances. Promptly rinse off any salt water or other corrosive substances that come into contact with the T-top using fresh water. Avoid leaving wet or damp items on the T-top.UV Protection: Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause fading or discolouration of the white powder-coated surface. Apply a UV-resistant wax or polish periodically to protect the T-top from UV rays and help maintain its colour and appearance.
